Located along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway, just approximately one kilometer from Mbale town, is the River Ehedwe.

This place has been a dark spot for quite sometime claiming lives of individuals, both drivers and the pedestrians. Across the Ehedwe bridge, an accident occured killing a cyclist just few days after that killing students on the spot had happened. The Ehedwe bridge located between Mbale and Majengo towns in Vihiga county has been mapped as a blackspot for many years making the residents being led by activists to demand the KeNHA to put bumps along the highway to no avail.

An accident killing the cyclist happens only two weeks after the accident in which the lory ferrying tomatoes lost control and rolling into a ditch in the same area
