Two people have lost their lives in Elgeyo Marakwet county while on line of duty, the two were working at Iten Referral Hospital, this is after a sad incident where the area forest guards are alleged to have opened fire at them, an incident that has also left three other nurses severly injured with gunshots woulds.

Drawing from the existing information online Iten is a town in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, it is located along the road between Eldoret and Kabarnet at the junction of the road heading to Kapsowar.On other news, the state has extended the dusk to dawn curfew in parts of Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties for another 30 days so as to boost security in the area.
