Kenyans Warned to Stay on the Lookout as Heavy Rainfall is Expected in the Mentioned Counties


Kenya Meteorological Department has a mandate of providing heavy rainfall advisories to all Kenyans. Weather forecast helps people to prepare for how to dress, more especially during warm weather, cold, windy and rainy weather. The advisories also helps businesses and individuals to plan for power production and how much power to use.

Therefore the advisories helps people to prepare if they need to take extra gear to prepare for the weather. For instance, umbrellas, rain coats and sun screens.

Several parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley are likely to continue receiving rainfall. Also isolated storms are expected over several parts of these regions.

The rest of the country is expected to be generally sunny and dry though occasional rainfall are likely to occur over few places in the Highlands East of Rift valley including Nairobi county and North Eastern parts of the country.

Strong southeasterly winds with speed exceeding 25 knots are expected over several parts of the country, more especially Northwest and Northeastern Kenya.

Rainfall is expected over several parts of Highlands West and East Rift valley, strong southeasterly winds above 25 knots are expected over several parts of Turkana and Marsabit counties.

Showers expected over several parts of the following counties, Nyeri, Murang'a, Kirinyaga, Embu, Meru, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia and Nairobi.

Cool cloudy conditions with light rains expected over several parts of the mentioned counties. Also showers and thunderstorms are expected over several places in the afternoon.
