A tragic road accident involving one truck (tipper) and two other passengers vehicles has left several people dead and a dozen other injured.
It is said that the accident which occurred few minutes past noon along the Nakuru-Nairobi road was as a result of head on collision between the truck which was heading towards a different direction with the two Nissan vehicles.
According to the ODM Communication Director Philip Etale who broke the news first hand, the bizarre incident occurred at a place called Karai in Naivasha. He further stated that the vehicles involved in that accident were belonging to different SACCOS namely Great Rift and Satima SACCO respectively.
“A grisly road accident involving a tipper and two Nissan matatus belonging to Great Rift and Satima Sacco has just happened at Karai area of Naivasha along Nakuru-Nairobi highway. Several feared dead,” twitted Etale.
This sad news comes just 3 hours after yet another tragic accident claimed several lives along Northern bypass just few meters from Kamiti. It was also a case of head-on collision and to make it worst, a passenger van was involved too.
Many Kenyans have lost their lives in the recent times through road accidents however what remains unclear are who or what to blame for these kinds of accidents. Could it be the recklessness of motorist like over speeding, overloading and poor maintenance of vehicles? Is it the conditions of the road or adverse weather conditions?
Well, an answer must be lying somewhere in between but until we get the real answer to this menace, let’s all be careful on our roads.
