Panic grips Kongoini after locals stumble upon body of unidentified man dumped by the roadside

Panic gripped Kongoini area in Kiharu, Murang’a County, early Sunday after locals stumble upon the body of an unidentified man dumped by the roadside.

According to Mukuyu area administrator Adams Kariuki, the unidentified body was naked, shaved in his private parts and one shoe.

Mukuyu added that the body seemed to have been transported from unknown source and dumped there.

"I got a call early Sunday morning few minutes to 7am, where I was notified about the discovery of body that had been found dumped by the roadside," Chief Kariuki told the press.

"He was unclothed save in his private parts and one shoe, we believed he was transported from elsewhere and thrown here."

According to Simon Njoroge, who hails from Kongoini who filed the discovery to the administrator, he stumbled upon the body at about 6.20am on his way to a nearby shopping center.

'I noticed what appeared like a body from a distance beside the road, I later met another person who was approaching near it and he established that it was a body,” Njoroge said.

Residents who stayed next to the scene where the body was found said they heard a vehicle sound in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
