Lee Njiru Road Unveiled in Nakuru

The Nakuru county deputy governor Dr.Erick Korir unveiled Lee Njiru road in honour of Mr Lee Njiru one of the longest serving civil servants.He said My Njiru worked as press secretary to the late president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi for forty six years.

Korir said Njiru employed impressive work ethic and intergrity which is a lesson to the young people who are starting out their careers.He said in July 2021 governor Lee Kinyanjui set up a committee to lead public participation on roads that should be named. The deputy governor said 179 roads are set to be named.

Dr Erick Korir said some of the roads that have already been named include Kinuthia Mbugua,Alicen Chelaite,Koigi wa Wamwere, Kibowen Komen and Lena Moi.He said the county government of Nakuru will continue to name the roads in honour of men women from Nakuru county who have had made an impact in the country.The move will make their legacy leave long and other generation coming will follow their steps.
