
Thika Road blocked at Blue Post towards Murang'a after a truck was involved in a road accident, Nairobi County.
The Thursday morning occurred after a trailer veered off the road before plunging into the river.
This is according to the Facebook post by TV47 on Thursdday morning.
"A section of Thika Road is now closed with motorists plying the same route urged to divert to other routes." The statement read in part.
The morning accident has caused heavy traffic gridlock around the area
"Following the accident transport along the busy road was temporarily paralyzed before police moved in to tow away the wreckage." An eye witness said.
According to reports, the driver of the trailer was to be blamed for the accident.
Nairobi County traffic police boss confirmed the incident saying investigations are underway.
By press time, the number of casualties involved in the accident was yet to be identified.
Investigations into the Thursday morning accident has been launched.
