Three people has died and four sustained serious injuries in a Friday night fatal road accident along Thika road, Nairobi County.
Witnesses accounts claimed that the Friday evening accident involved a city shuttle and a black car.
Thika Road traffic police officer Jeffrey Kent who confirmed the incident said the black car was moving towards Nairobi town from Githurai and the city shuttle was moving towards Ruaka from Kariobangi estate when the accident happened.
According to Jeffrey, the black was moving at a high speed, suffered a tyre burst and rammed into the oncoming city shuttle.
"The accident took place at around 8pm on along Thika Road. The black car suffered a tyre burst before it rammed into the oncoming city shuttle. We lost three people on the spot. Four other passengers sustained serious injuries," Jeffrey said.
The four injured were rushed to Ruaraka Uhai Neema hospital for emergency treatment after sustaining serious injuries from the Friday night accident.
The bodies of the three deceased were transferred to Jomo Kenyatta University Referral Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
The motorvehicle wreckages has been towed to Kasarani Police Station for inspection.
