'So Sad' Reactions As 11 Kenyans Lost Their Lives In An Accident After A Bus Plunged Into A River

More than eleven people have been confirmed dead after the bus they were aboard plunged into a river.

The terrifying accident happened in Mbeere, north, Embu county after the bus plying the siakago route lost the brakes and veered off the road into river Thura.

Reports indicate that the bus had run out of fuel at an uphill area after crossing the river Thura bridge.

Upon refuelling and igniting the engine, the brakes failed and the bus lost control as a result rolled downhill before plunging into the river.

Dozens of other people were also rushed to the Embu level 5 hospital and Siakago level 4 hospital in critical conditions after sustaining serious injuries.

Accidents in Kenya have been on the rise, as the country heads to the festive season in December.

Netizens took to social media to pour out their sentiments as they console their families, relatives and close friends.
