A man was today arraigned in court for defiling his 7-year-old daughter in Diani town Mombasa County over the weekend.
The suspect identified as Hussein Ali, 27, was arrested on Saturday last week after he allegedly defiled the minor in his residential house in Diani town in Mombasa County.
Mr Hussein, however, denied the charges before Mombasa senior principal magistrate Esther Ogmore, who denied him bail and remanded him in custody until the mention of his case.
It is anticipated that the Mombasa Court heard that Hussein intentionally defiled his daughter on Saturday at his residential house in Diani town.
The statement also states that the suspect was charged with indecently touching the girl’s breasts contrary to the sexual offences Act.
At the same time it was reportedly said the the accused was charged with defiling the minor on several accounts at the same town.
Cases of children abuse continue to rise mid this April holiday.
The prosecution was tabled as evidence the medical records for the minor obtained from Diani town hospital where she was examined.
The Mombasa Senior Principal Resident Magistrate, Esther Ogmore, adjourned the hearing to May 22 where the wife of the suspect will be required to testify.
