Man collapses and dies after excavators destroyed his palm trees in Lungalunga area, Kwale County.
The deceased whose identity was not revealed, is said to have collapsed and died mysteriously after the excavator brought down the palm trees.
Witnesses accounts told the press that the unidentified man was resting inside his palm farm at 8am.
The matter was filed at Kwale town police station by three locals.
Security officers who responded at the scene found the man lying dead.
According to the police the deceased was a former assistant chief who ditched the administrative duties to venture into agriculture.
After processing the scene of the tragic incident, the body of the deceased was body was moved to Kwale County hospital mortuary.
Police the cause of his death remains mystery, and a planned postmortem is scheduled for Tuesday next week.
Police investigations to determine the root cause of his death is underway.
