This is after six more bodies have been retrieved from the wreckage. Police who are undertaking the retrieving process say that 13 others were nursing critical injuries as the search for more bodies which might still be remaining in the river entered the second day. There is fear that some bodies may have been swept away by water from the river.
According to the eye witness Nicholas Mutegi, the bus lost the brake when going down the hill such that the driver was unable to control its high speed. It therefore plunged into the 40metres bridge resulting to this unimaginable deaths. Those who have been injured have been taken to Chuka County Referral Hospital and PCEA Chogoria Mission Hospital for nursing and further checkups.
The Modern Coast company has further broken silence concerning this accident. They have sent a condolence messages to the family of those affected. They have also shared their phone number so that the affected families can reach them for further planning.
