A fifty six year man by the name Samuel Kahiga could not contain his joy after he finally got married to his lover after spending several years behind bars.The former inmate who was released nine months ago said that he had been dreaming of a day when he could also exchange vows in a colourful ceremony just like his peers did.
Kahiga was arrested in 1991 with charges of robbery with violence and was therein sentence to death penalty bearing in mind the manner in which he committed the act.Rules would however favour him such that they would instead of killing him give him a life sentence behind bars.
After thirty one years behind bars and with a good record the authorities saw it right that he be released owing to the fact that he was indeed a changed man.He therefore held a beautiful wedding celebration at New life church at Olkalou in Nyandarua county to his 27 year old bride.
The whole church went into silence when the Pastor asked if there was anyone who opposed their marriage to say it then or forever hold their peace and no one raised their hands.The newly wed couple plan to go for honeymoon in Mombasa and then back to Naivasha maximum prison where he spent more than twenty years to motivate his fellow inmates.
