Prepare For Heavy Rainfall In The Next Five Days If You Live In These Parts Of The Country


The Kenya Meteorological Department announces heavy rainfall in the next five days from today. According to the report shared by the Kenya Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected to persist over several counties across the country. This means that Kenyans should prepare themselves well as this early warning weather forecasting is revealed.


Early warning in weather forecasting entails provision of timely and effective weather information that allows individuals, organisation or communities exposed to likely weather hazards to take action that avoids or reduces their exposure to risks.

Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of Highlands of West Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and Central Rift Valley. However the rest of the country is likely to be generally dry. However, occasional rainfall is expected over some parts of the Highlands East of Rift Valley, Southeastern lowlands, the Central and South Rift Valley and the Highlands of West of Rift Valley.


The Highlands East of Rift Valley: Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties. Morning are likely to be cloudy. Sunny intervals with occasional showers expected over few places are likely to occur in the afternoon.

North Eastern Kenya, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo. Day hours are expected to be sunny and nights partly cloudy. However occasional rainfall are expected over several parts of the region.


Therefore the following places are likely to receive heavy rains, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kericho, Nakuru, Bometi, Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Kakamega and Narok
