Police Confirm Why UDA Candidate Was Arrested and Not Bribery Claims as Earlier Reported, Fact Check

In the morning of Thursday, several news outlet published in their online websites that Mr Nyandusi Nyakeramba was arrested along with others for allegedly bribing voters in Kiamakoma by election. Those were were seized with him are Don Bosco (Kitutu Chache South), Zaheer Chanda (Nyaribari Chache) and a press aide attached to Kisii county governor's office.

Nyandusi was arrested at his home while Don Bosco cornered a few metres away from Emeroka polling station.

However, police have refuted the claims that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate was arrested for allegedly trying to woo voters with bribe. In an information obtained by Star Newspaper website, the aspirant was put behind the bars for his safety and other constituents.

The police didn't take chances after it was rumoured that ODM goons were going to disrupt the elections on claims that voters were being bribed.

The UDA party leader will be looking to clinch the ward in a bid to test his might in politics ahead of 2022 general elections.
