Unbearable Pain for Kenyan Man After Buffalo Rips Off His Privates

According to a report by The Standard, the 54-year-old man is recuperating at the Garissa County Referral Hospital after he was attacked by a buffalo while he was herding his goats on the field at Holugho area in Ijara Sub-County.

The buffalo reportedly charged towards him and gored him in the groin, ripping off his penis.

The victim is now crying for justice, hoping the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) would compensate him, and the KWS officer in charge of human-wildlife conflict affairs, Grace Nzale, said the agency will investigate the incident and react appropriately.

A 2019 report revealed that KWS owes victims Sh2.2 billion in unpaid compensation claims for the year 2014 to 2016 alone. Out of the Sh2.2 billion claims, 2,029 cases of human injury accounts for Sh990,188,000 while Sh1,245,200,000 is required to compensate for the death of 274 people.

The institution had recently released Sh13 million as compensation for wildlife attack victims in Kajiado County.

County Warden Vincent Ongwae, said 65 people who were victims of wildlife attacks from 2014 to 2017 would receive compensation.

He added that compensation for other victims who were affected after 2017 was on-going and urged them to be patient.
