Following Mr. Amin Mohamed Ibrahim's appointment as the next Director of Criminal Investigations to succeed Mr. George Kinoti, news has generated headlines across a variety of media outlets.
When Mr. Mohamed was chosen by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) as the top candidate out of 9 others to succeed the outgoing DCI Boss, Mr. Mohamed was given the position by the state's head of state, the honorable William Samoei Ruto.
One thing that Mr. Mohamed promised his predecessor he would do in the days ahead was mentioned in a speech he gave hours after being appointed. Mr. Mohamed expressed his gratitude for getting the job.
Mine is merely to thank him for what he has already done for the directorate and reassure him (Kinoti) that we will continue where he has left off.
In order to ensure justice in carrying out his tasks, he concluded by saying that he would contact him by phone and they would have a thorough conversation about how they would work together.
In closing, Mohamed said, "I'll be contacting him and cooperating with him."
