At least 12 people have been injured after a building under construction collapsed at Mamboleo area in Kisumu.
Moments after the collapse of the building, neighbors pulled out a mother and her child who had been trapped in the rubbles.
The twelve were rushed to Jaramogi Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

One of the injured people is said to be severely injured from a metal bar piercing.
It is also said that three people from the same family were trapped under the collapsed building. They include a female food vendor, her husband who was working as a mason at the site, and their toddler.
Police officers from Mamboleo police station are leading in the rescue efforts.
According to Amos Musau, the National Construction Authority (NCA) Central Nyanza Regional Coordinator the collapse might have something to do with the design of the building which was being constructed in a swampy area.
The fear is rising that more building might collapse and endanger people lives.
Government is expected to do more stop the rising cases of collapsing buildings.
