As the adage goes, bad company ruins good morals. Peter Ngugi shares his experience in this.
Peter was born and raised in Nyandarua County. He is the second born among three children. He was a very bright student in school. Unfortunately, his mom passed on when he was in secondary school. God was still on his side because he scored a mean grade of B on his KCSE exam.
He was given admission at the University Of Nairobi to study Business Commerce as he had always dreamt of becoming a Bank Manager someday. However, he met new friends who changed him into a bad guy. He became a drug addict making it impossible to study.
It reached a point where he left school and went back home telling his father that he couldn't continue with his education. He was given a piece of land to do farming but because he had become a drug addict he couldn't stay without them.
Since he had no money and no job, he started selling home items one after another. His father tried talking to him but he gave him a deaf ear. He would even steal from the neighbors giving his family a bad name. When the situation worsened his dad and siblings locked him up so that he could learn the hard way.
He has been imprisoned for three months where currently he has already served two months. From experience, he says that prison is the worst place one can wish to be. He also says that he has changed encouraging the young generations to use every opportunity that comes their way wisely.
