Governor In Trouble For Allegedly Misusing County Funds, EACC Launches Investigation

Ethics And Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) is questioning a top Governor in Kenya over his Ksh600 Million asset. The Governor is asked to explain and produce the source of his money, money transfer in seven banks, deposit transactions, cost of properties he has and bank receipts for every property acquired. He will also be forced to explain source of his income in farming, rentals, businesses and investments.

Between January 2013 and February 2019, Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal alledgedly acquired assets worth Ksh600 Million and at the moment his net worth was Ksh42.3 Million. Twalib Mbarak who is EACC CEO ordered him to write down his legitimate source of properties within 2 weeks after receiving this notice.

Lenolkulal is alledgedly of misusing county funds. Four properties In Karen and his vehicles are being questioned. Lenolkulal defended himself by saying that he purchased his properties through mortgage facility which he is still servicing. His salary and mortgage helped him to purchase all of this properties.
