The Marijuana debate in Kenya has elicited mixed reaction in this year's August election with Roots Party Presidential candidate Professor George Wajackoya advocating fpr its legalization. This has seen his advocacy meet strong opposition especially from the Church and authorities.

According to Mpasho News, the National Police service are said to have recovered bhang that was being cultivated in a rental house located within Elgon View estate in Eldoret.
In the report, the Police authorities are said to have recovered 21 cannabis plants growing in the main bedroom, 68 in the sitting room, 14 in the dining room, 26 in an adjacent iron sheet walled house.

Police have said that the small plantation of bhang is said to have weighed 33.5 Kgs which is estimated to have a street value of about a million Kenya Shillings
The bhang was discovered after a thorough search was done in the two buildings within the compound on Tuesday. Sleuths from the crime scene department of the DCI documented the plants them uprooted the plants to take them as evidence.
