Nyeri Man,43, Arrested By Police For Beating And Permanently Paralysing Girl,22, For Rejecting Him

Dramatic scenes was witnessed from a little known Magutu village, kieni constituency, Nyeri county in the former Central province after a man,43, identified as John Miring'o was arrested by police in broad daylight for beating and permanently paralysing girl,22, for rejecting him.

According to Jane Matheri, a neighbour or rather resident, the accused, a quarry worker in the nearby urban center is a drug addict and spend most of the time moving from one alcohol bar to another taking illegal brew and smoking bhang, have been implicated in similar cases before.

Conferming the incident, the area deputy county commissioners Mr Richard Asiago disclosed the victim was rescued by police officer who were in patrol and rushed her to Nyeri Regional hospital where she was hospitalized. "She sustained serious injuries on the head and spinal cord but is responding well to treatment and will be discharged any time from the facility." He said.
