A recently enlisted police officer was fatally shot and died during a raid on a chang'aa den in Katani, Athi River sub-County, Machakos.

TV47 Digital has obtained police records showing that this officer led a raid on a known drug and illicit brew den on a Friday night, accompanied by six other cops.

According to the police report filed at the Drumvale Police Patrol Base, "on the location they were able to arrest five adult males and one adult female, recovering 11 liters of chang'aa and 500 grammes of Cannabis Sativa."

"At that point, a motorcycle with three pillion riders arrived challenged the police, and a shootout ensued. Officer Cyrus Mbaka was shot and died at the scene, while Officer Ngaga Samuel was injured by a stone but is now safe, "a police report stated.

According to the report, the previously captured individuals also managed to escape.
