A young man identified as Alex Jonathan Malel who worked in the neighbourhood before the girl went missing became the main suspect of the crime.DCI officers in Nyeri led by officer Jonathan Gicheru started following up on the missing class eight girl with hopes of rescuing her and restoring her freedom.
The officers efforts bore fruits when DCI's elite Special Service Unit in co-operation with Tanzania's regional crime unit based at Arusha, Tanzania cornered Malel at 2am in a meticulously planned rescue mission. The innocent girl was rescued and the captor put in custody. It is really a good job done by the DCI officers.
