Chief Jacob Loyangile of Motiok Location in Tiamamut village in Laikipia North Sub-County, Laikipia County lost his life to suspected bandits yesterday.
The bandits found the chief resting with his family on Sunday evening. They ransacked the senior chiefs home while looking for a gun. When they failed to find it, they shot him in the chest and casually walked away on foot without stealing anything.
So far, 3 suspects have been arrested and a weapon believed to have been used in the murder retrieved from them.
Following the sad incident, Interior Cabinet Secretary visited the location and family of the late chief. He promised that the government will ensure that the criminals are arrested and also recruit 360 police reservists to enhance security in the area.

The chief had only one month left to retire from his position. Our sincere condolences to his family members during this hard period.
