A large number of innocent Kenyans have lost their precious goods and money after being tricked by a group of gamblers who have formed a syndicate that conned citizens in a business popularly known as "pata potea".
Nairobi city has been known for many years as the headquarters for money laundering business "pata potea".A large number of gamblers are suspected to have conned women,university students and men in downtown streets of Nairobi city.
The syndicate popularly known as "pata potea" gamblers is said to target their victims and operate opposite St Peter claver's catholic church in Nairobi,as another group operates outside Muthurwa market.
It is also said that after they successfully completed with their mission,members of the public laughed at victims as other people murmur and no one bothers to ask what had happened.
The scammers are said to enjoy protection from city hall officials in conjunction with one from the interior ministry who get part of the loot on a daily basis.
