Once Again Merciless Bandits Kills Innocent Children Despite Security Operation In Chesogon

The issue of banditry and violence continues to plague the Chesegon region in West Pokot Province, with the latest victims being innocent students. A grade 6 student was gunned down, and on Saturday morning, another student aged 12 years old was also killed in a similar attack. In addition to these tragic deaths, two other people, including a Grade 5 student who was on mid-term break, were shot and injured in Yatya region.

According to Citizen tv two people who were also herding and managed to disappear with gunshot wounds include Hezron Kandie and Musa Chesire. A student was also shot in the hand and continue to receive medication at the Margat hospital.

The incident of livestock theft and subsequent recovery by the security team is yet another reminder of the insecurity that plagues many parts of the country, particularly in regions where livestock is a vital source of livelihood for the local population. The recent incident occurred in Kagir village, located in the Saimo Soi ward of Baringo North, where bandits reportedly killed a man and stole over 200 goats belonging to two families.

The former Police Training College Commandant enjoys the trust of his seniors and the respect of his juniors. Perhaps this explains why he was picked for the role by his bosses.

If the Ruto adminstration can manage to bring to an end the perennial bandits menace in Rift Valley to an end, Gabow will be remembered as the man who led a successful operation.
