Government has annouced plans to evict and demolish various estates in Nairobi.Deputy regional commander has cautioned members of the public against resistance adding that the Nairobi metropolitan services and security officers will be deployed to oversee the process.
As reported by kenyans.co.ke,a notice was issued by Nairobi deputy regional commissioner James Kianda,as demolitions are set to pave way for the expansion of the Nairobi expressway.
Mukuru kwa Njenga and adjacent areas will be affected by the Demolitions.Residents along Catherine Ndereba road have been asked to start vacating from their structures.
Houses and business structures have been earmarked for demolition creating a link between the expressway and industrial area.
An emergency exit is expected to be constructed from the city cabanas junction to Nairobi railway station.
The decision to evict a number of residents from the marked area comes as the Nairobi expressway road structure continues to take shape ahead of the official opening.
