Several people are feared dead and others rushed to Mwingi hospital following an accident involving an Alpha bus that was travelling from Garissa to Nairobi on Sunday morning according to Facebook post by Sikika Road Safety.
News on the accident has been reported at around 11 am near Mwingi town. Details on the number of people dead or seriously injured have not been established but sources indicate that causalities are many.
A video of the accident shows people rescuing the people from the bus as wails rented the air. We are not sure if they were alive or dead.
Facebook users familiar with buses plying the Garissa route attributed the accident to reckless driving at high speeds. Florence Nduta narrated how she boarded a bus in Garissa at 6 pm but by 7 pm she was in Nairobi. “I kept talking about speed to my neighbors and they were so much comfortable with it,” she wrote.
Quick recovery to the injured. What is your opinion on the rising number of tragic accidents in Kenya, leave us a comment below.
