We Should Be Naming Our Good Roads and Public Institutions After The Right People ~ Says Wahome

Picture for illustrative purpose.

"Driving outside Central Police Station in Nairobi with my son this afternoon, he spots a road sign 'Harry Thuku Road'. He quickly tells me, 'Dad we are on the road of our great ancestor'. I ask, 'who?' He says, 'Harry Thuku'

Down the road I have to answer several questions on the relationship between our family and Harry Thuku.

That's a good reason why we should name our roads and institutions after the right people."

This is according to vocal and popular Senior Lawyer allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Wahome Thuku as he posted it on his facebook page.Picture for illustrative purpose.

This attracted lots of reactions where different Kenyans gave different views and opinions as captured below.Picture for illustrative purpose.

*Very true, but they were named right. I wonder why they are changed nowadays, it's kind this generation is full of jealous or something else is not right somewhere.

*Yes, sometimes I see names on our streets and roads that I don't even understand their meaning. For example Muktagarder street even writing the name is headache.

*Unfortunately our roads and national places of history are named after the colonial times home guards.
