There was a sombre mood in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri county when Lydia Nyaguthii was laid to rest after she was allegedly killed by her patient turned husband, Bernard Murithi.
It is reported that the main suspect, Murithi, was admitted to a hospital where Nyaguthii was working as a nurse. Murithi had suffered injuries sustained from domestic violence.
It is then that the deceased cared for him in the hospice till he got well and love got brewed in the same period. However, all was not rosy as their marriage ended with a cold murder of the nurse.
Rev Joseph Ngari Miano who was presiding over the ceremony advised couples who were experiencing problems in their marriage, to seek professional advice immediately and if it comes to worst, then there was no need to die for it.
Police are still looking for the main suspect with the latest news from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) suggesting that Murithi might be hard to find as his phone was off and hence difficult to track him.
