Senior officers from the DCI's now-defunct Special Service Unit and other security agencies are being questioned about what happened to the three people.
According to sources, some of the detained officers told the Internal Affairs Unit that they were instructed to abduct the three men. Additionally, the arrested officers have revealed that they received orders from their superiors.
IAU officers told the Sunday Standard that numerous forensic investigations, including DNA tests on four suspect officers, had been concluded. Additionally, their mobile phones have been examined. Investigations have revealed that additional suspects may have been involved in the incident.
According to reports, after being interrogated by the IAU, 21 officers from the disbanded SSU admitted that they were tasked with kidnapping the missing men prior to the General Election. Reports say that the fact that they said they were getting orders from above put senior officers in a tough spot.
