Two men were yesterday arrested in Bungoma with elephant ivory.The police who were on patrol saw the two men with a bag and suspected something fishy from them that prompted them to open the bag.
On opening the bag they got the suspects with elephant ivory.They took them to Bun go ma police station where they called the Kenya wildlife service.The Kenya wildlife service has confirmed that it's ivory although they never mentioned the amount of the ivory.
One of the suspects has defended himself by saying that the ivory were picked at mount Elgon and they don't do poaching.The police have then launched an investigation to determine if it's true the ivory were picked at mount Elgon forest.
The landlord whose houses were rented by the suspects has distanced himself from this incident saying that he never knew they were criminals and he gave them the house just like any other tenant.
