The Kenya Police Service is a national body in charge of law enforcement in Kenya. It was founded in 1906. It is subordinate to National Police Service which is headed by Inspector General of Police who exercises independent command over the Service. Kenya Police is headed by Deputy Inspector General.
The police department of late has been in the headlines for mostly the bad reasons. Police officers have been accused for either killing innocent Kenyans, their colleagues, partners or even themselves. The ongoings in the department has forced the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga to break his silence firing the department.
According to a tweet by Citizen TV, the former Prime Minister Hon Raila Amolo Odinga fired back at the Kenyan Police department Alleging that the service has a colonial mentality. The Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga has in past gone through a lot of suffering in the hands of the police officers in Kenya.
