A 25-year-old man in Veta District, Mbeya Province in Tanzania is to face 30 years behind bars after he was found guilty of forcefully engaging in the act with a school-going girl. Apart from inappropriately assaulting the girl, the man also left her pregnant as he did the act without protection.
The judgment was made on Tuesday 13th October 2021 by Andrew Peter, a judge in Mbeya. The judge settled on the decision after hearing from both parties and was convinced that the man fits to stay behind bars for 30 years.
Hebel Khaki, the lawyer in charge of government matters together with his counterpart Zena James confirmed the incident by saying that the man knowingly mishandled the naive girl without using any kind of protection that left her expectant. The incident is said to have taken place between September 2020 and April 2021. The man did the act by tricking the young girl into a secret place before removing her clothes and committing the heinous act.
