Lifeless Body Of Police Officer Found In His House After He Failed Pick Police Vehicle For Duty

A police officer committed suicide on Thursday night in his house within the police staff quarters.

The officer, based at Mutangale police station, used a piece of clothe to hang himself.

A police report reveal that, the officer who was on duty failed to report to the office prompting his colleagues to go and search for him.

The OCS said the deceased was expected to pick a police vehicle for official duty but when he failed to report to the station, his colleagues went to find out what happened. Upon arrival, they found his house locked from inside. They broke the door and when they gained entry, they found his lifeless body dangling from the roof of the house.

The body was taken to the mortuary awaiting autopsy.

The incident is the latest in a series that have been reported in the past days amid concerns many officers are stressed and not disclosing.
