Mastern Wanjala Saga: The Prisoner Was Transferred By Error By Officers As Curfew Offender

Police said that when transferring prisoners in cell register, the officers should always be careful.This is after the serial child killer mastern Wanjala, a prisoner ,was transferred by error by officers as curfew offender. The Inspector unknowingly released all petty/curfew offenders.

The accused was to appear in court on Wednesday for another mention over the killing of at least 14 boys in Nairobi, and areas of eastern and western Kenya.

Police said they noticed that he had gone missing during the morning head count.

He was being remanded during police probes into the series of child murders that left many shocked in the country.

Three policemen who were on guard at the time he fled from Jogoo Road police line, in the Eastlands area of Nairobi, have been nabbed.

Security agents have launched a trace for the suspect known to be dangerous.

Mr Wanjala was nabbed in July after admitting to killing the innocent juveniles, as well as sipping their blood in some instances.
