Nakuru Police Manhunt For Driver Who Beat Traffic Cop To a Pulp For Demanding Kshs500 Bribe

Police in Nakuru County manhunt for driver who beat traffic cop to a pulp for demanding Kshs500 bribe from him along Nakuru-Gilgil Road.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver whose identity was not established, was ferrying narcotics to Nairobi and was trying to evade police check when he was stopped.

It was revealed that the officer demanded Kshs500 from the driver that later turned out into a scuffle in broad daylight along the busy road.

Witnesses accounts revealed that the traffic cop was allegedly beaten unnoticed and he fell on the ground, nursing a deep cut on his left eye.

The suspect is said to have fled the scene leaving his victim bleeding at the left side of his eye.

Nakuru County police commander who confirmed the incident said their officers are on the ground to arrest the culprit who is said to have fled towards Nairobi route.

Meanwhile, the officer was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment and discharged.

The latest development comes only two weeks when three traffic police cops were nabbed by Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway, for allegedly extorting Kshs150 bribes.
