Kenyans living in the mentioned parts of the country have been urged to prepare for heavy downpour that is expected in the country. According to the report shared by the Kenya Meteorological Department through their official website most parts of the country will experience heavy rainfall as from the month of April until May, therefore members of the public urged to prepare adequately.
Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country. Therefore isolated storms are likely to occur over some parts of the Highlands West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift,the Highlands East of Rift Valley, the Coast and the South Eastern Lowlands. Impressively, rainfall intensities are expected to reduce during the second half of the forecast period.
Both daytime temperatures and night temperatures are likely to be moderate. Strong southeasterly winds of more than 25 knots are expected over some parts of the country.
The Highlands West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and Basin and the Central Rift Valley including Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kericho, Nakuru, Bometi, Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Nandi and Narok counties are expected to receive rains in morning hours over few places.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur over several parts of the region during the first half of the forecast period and over few places thereafter. Night showers are expected to occur over few places.
