The suspect, Paul Kisang who is the headteacher, Katakon primary school is said to have committed the heinous act on Sunday night by holding the baby's face over fire intending to kill it by roasting.
It is said he was drunk at the time of incident, and after inserting the kid in the fire, he went to the door, armed with a panga, trying to block any rescue mission from his wife, fortunately, the wife took a bold risk, screamed hard and managed to push him off before rushing ahead to rescue the kid.
This is according to Baringo central sub county children's officer, Irene Chepkwony who narrated the ordeal after visiting the mother, Ann Kipyego who is currently fighting for the life of her badly injured kid at the Baringo refferal hospital, Kabarnet.
