Citizen TV Reporter Says Life is in Danger Over Story Implicating Governor's Bodyguard in Murder

Rift Valley based veteran news reporter attached to Citizen Television Martin Kosgey has revealed that his life is in danger. Recently, Kosgey posted on Facebook that a bodyguard linked to Kericho County Governor Professor Paul Chepkwony alongside a Prison Warder had beaten two men they suspected to have stolen from a bee farm.

One man, Leonard Kipyegon is reported to have suffered fatal head injuries and passed on. Emmanuel Kiprotich, Leonard's ally is currently recuperating at the Kericho County Referral Hospital nursing broken limbs.

The incident that happened in a village in Brooke, Kericho County was subsequently aired by the Royal Media owned station. However, following this report, Martin Kosgey has confirmed receiving threats from the two culprits.

On Thursday 6th January, 2022, a Citizen Tv correspondent based in Kericho recorded a statement with the police on the same matter. The case was booked under OB Number 32/0/01/2022. The culprits are however reported to have gone missing. The Prison Warder whose name is unidentified was last traced to Bomet County.
