Bondo Police have deployed security in Bondo Sub-County and its environment following a rise in unknown killings of innocent people in the town.
This comes as six suspected thieves were on Saturday morning gunned down for allegedly robbing shops doing away with goods worth millions of shillings.
The incident happened around 10am on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Bondo Sub-County OCPD James Akal, the armed men were riding a probox registration number KMHF 343S, and had just accosted an M-pesa agent before officers pounced on them.
Recent weeks, the suspects had snatched a mobile phone from an unidentified man who is alleged to be a bodaboda operator within the town.
“Our officers recovered ten thousand shillings, two Samsung Phones and four pistols from the suspects, three matchete and seven knives,” said DCI.
We urge members of the public to be cautious and on high alert since thieves take advantage of Bondo town to commit crime.
The caution comes amid an increase in criminal activities within the town even as police enhance surveillance.
James appealed to the members of the public to volunteer any information to the police on any suspicion relating to the crimes.
He also issued a strict warning to culprits found taking advantage of such crimes.
