PAC Members inspects institutions with audit queries.

The national assembly's Public Accounts Committed (PAC) has asked kisumu county assembly to fasten the processing of Kombewa rehabilitation centres title deed.

According to PAC members led by Otiende Amollo the land which rehab centre under the childrens department in Kisumu county sits has an audit query of 12 years.

"We have spoken to chairperson National Lands Commission and their representatives here in Kisumu, the speaker Kisumu county assembly and we have agreed that the commission will do a letter requesting the county assembly to give a no objection and they have assured us the process will be settled in less than a month", said Amollo.

The committee members are on a nation wide inspection of projects with audit queries raised by the auditor general's office and they are visiting 15 institutions where audit issues have been raised and half the number relates to the judiciary.

"Our commitment is to ensure that any issue where public funds have been involved there's accountability and where there's an error specific officials are held responsible".

Amollo has noted that most courts were built by funds from world bank where some were well built with proper public funds while some there's no proper accountability and funds spent do not mirror on what's on the ground. The inspection therefore helps the PAC to understand the need and want when the judiciary seeks for an increase in allocation.
