Cases of police officer's shooting people unlawfully has been on the rise in different parts of our country, Kenya. Some people are currently nursing police wounds in hospitals as other's breath their last after meeting the police dragnets.
Yesterday night, a dramatic scene was witnessed at Gatung'ang'a shopping centre in Ruguru Ward, Mathira after police officer's from Gatung'ang'a Police Post came and ordered the closing of all business activities at the helm of 7pm despite the 10pm government curfew time. On trying to demean their orders, the officer's turned violent and went on beating up the business people or else they give them bribes.
Unfearful, a middle-aged man protested as he dared the police officers to stop beating up his father. Mysteriously, one officer shot his riffle and the bullet ended up meeting the man. Luckily, he never died. He sustained Injuries and was rushed to Karatina Level IV Hospital while in critical condition where he is now recuperating.
