Families leaving near the building on Construction have been left counting loses after the five-storey residential building collapsed and fell on structures near it.
Residents living around have joined Kiambu county firefighters in the rescue mission currently ongoing as they attempt to save those trapped in.
With a huge multitude gathering at the accident scene, police who accompanied Mr. Nuno kept vigil to avert any theft from the crown and also control rescue operations.
Witnesses and police said the structure had been built up to the fifth floor, and labourers were working on the sixth one when it collapsed. Several constructors managed to escape but sustained minor injuries.
This accident comes barely hours after one person died and five others got trapped after a water trench they were digging collapsed on them in Kirinyanga County.
