According to sources It was reported by one No.26609 Sgt Benard Mutisya the duty officer at Waita GK Prisons MR CJ 950980 about 20km North of the Station that there was a shooting incident within the prison wardens' lines.
D/Scpc, Sccio, Ocs Mwingi, and Team proceeded to the scene and established that yesterday 18/05/2021 at 1935hrs the duty officer Sgt Benard Mutisya while escorting two prisoners to Start preparing breakfast for the next day in the company of No.38818 Pc Dennis Mbungu and No.37327 Pc Nelson Mandela Katee, heard Gunshots within the prison's compound.
The duty officer ordered Cpl Paul Mukala the guard commander to confirm whether all officers were at their respective Watch Towers and found that No.36442 pc David Nduati Kimani who was to be Manning Watch Tower No. 2 was absent from his place of duty having reported at 6.00 PM.
The duty officer received information that Pc David Nduati Kimani had surrendered his G3 Rifle to the officers manning the main gate and he confessed that he had killed someone and left.
The duty officer proceeded to the scene of the crime that's Pc David's house, together with two guard commanders and found that one Joyce Mwende Ngui a Kamba female adult aged about 30years Who has been staying with the said officer and had just arrived from her Mothernal home and her son Raji Mwende a juvenile aged about 1year had been shot dead by Pc David Nduati Kimani inside his house.
They arrested him while he was about to escape. The scene was photographed, six(6) spent cartridges were collected inside the house and a G3 Rifle S/no.081551 loaded with a magazine of 11rounds taken and kept as exhibit.
The motive of the Killing not yet known. The bodies were moved to Mwingi level 4 hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy. Case PBC.
