Police in Kisii are looking for a four-man gang that attacked a family and raped a woman and 17-year-old daughter at their home in Keroka in a robbery incident.
The man of the home said they were sleeping when the thugs struck. He became suspicious whenhe heard unusual movements from his sitting room.
The thugs first held the man at gunpoint, tied him with a piece of cloth before gang raping his wife and daughter. They later stole Sh20,800 and two mobile phones from the house.
The woman and her daughter were rushed to hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Serious violent crimes, dangerous drug felonies and sexual offences make up the bulk of complaints reported to police.
Some of the major crimes have been increasing steadily over the past few months. Crimes committed in country are way higher because many people do not report crime to police or pursue justice through the legal system.
