A nine-storey building that was under construction in the OJ area of Ruiru sub-county, Kiambu County, has collapsed. The occurrence came only days after a man was lethally harmed when a structure under development along Parklands fifth Avenue falls on Thursday, October 7. The occurrence left a few others nursing wounds at different wellbeing offices in the city.
No casualties were however reported from the incident as nobody was inside the building at the time. The early Sunday morning incident left several cars damaged beyond repair in a nearby garage. An eye witness said he heard a loud bang at around 3.30am and, together with other watchmen, they ran for their lives.
The inhabitants say they dreaded the structure had not been very much built as it was inclining towards one side, presenting risk to the workers at the site. Their interests were, be that as it may, overlooked as the proprietor supplanted the past worker for hire with another who was ready to continue with the development regardless of the security alert being raised
