Rape cases have been increasing at a very high rate recently. Unfortunately, children also become victims of cases like this.
Detectives have detained a 27-year-old man accused of defiling and killing a four-year-old kid in Kirinyaga two weeks ago.
According to Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Anthony Mbogo, the suspect – Gabriel Muchira Muriithi – was apprehended on Friday evening after detectives from Kirinyaga East led by sub-county DCI Millicent Ochuka conducted investigations.
DCI's Crime Scene detectives undertook a forensic analysis of the body, which revealed that she had been defiled before being murdered, which was later confirmed by an autopsy report.
According to Commander Mbogo, the main suspect in the event has been apprehended and is being held at the Kianyaga Police Station for legal proceedings and arraignment on Monday.
