On the news hitting the headlines today, police based in Kilifi County have managed to arrest 81 members of the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council who were engaging an illegal meeting.
According to reputable sources, A tip off from the members of the public in the area to Mtwapa police station indicated that there was a mass of people who had converged in a certain house at Golden Key area. This lead to the swift move of a team of detectives who raided the house belonging to one Jefwa Bakari.
On arrival the detectives were shocked to find a number of dangerous weapons including pangas and knives. Despite that, there was red ribbons, goat meat and blood.
The detectives then arrested the 81 members who 76 of them are male and five are female. The group who are members of the Mombasa Republican Council claimed that they were only conducting oaths so as to take over the country come August 9.
However the authorities managed to arrest the members upon further investigation.
